Vilanova del Vallès is a municipality in the Vallès Oriental region, situated between the Valles plain, through which the Mogent River runs, and the foothills of the Litoral Mountain Range. It was created in 1984 by the segregation of parts of the Montornès and La Roca del Vallès territories, which until that moment was known as Vilanova de la Roca.
The natural environment is primarily characterized by the wooded slopes of the Litoral Mountain Range.
Visitors can enjoy a visit to the sanctuary of Santa Quitèria, the medieval origins of settlement in the area. They can hike up to the Céllecs hill, a great viewpoint of the area and the highest point of the Vilanova del Vallès municipality, and enjoy hiking with the trails found within the municipality.
From a festive point of view, in addition to the Festa Major in August, two pilgrimages should be mentioned: the one of Sant Sebastià Votat, in October, and the one of Santa Quitèria, on Easter Monday.
